Module 1 — Identity Development

Discover who you are without the uniform.

For most collegiate athletes, the sport is not just what you do; it is who you are.  Your schedule, your identity, your friendships, your self-worth.  All of it organized around the game.  And then eligibility ends.  Or injury changes everything. Or the season closes, and the structure that held your entire life together is suddenly gone.  This is the transition no one prepares you for.  The Complete Athlete: Beyond the Game is a three-module coaching program designed specifically for female collegiate and post-collegiate athletes navigating this transition.  Each module addresses a distinct piece of the journey: identity, grief, and career direction, with a structured, conscious-driven approach that builds the foundation for who you are becoming.

Module 3 — Career Direction

Identity Development:
Career Transition Coaching for Female Athletes

Who are you when the game is over?

You have been an athlete for as long as you can remember.  The sport defined your schedule, your friendships, your self-image, and your sense of purpose.  But who are you without the uniform?  This is the question most athletes are never asked until it is too late.  Module 1 is a structured, consciousness-driven exploration of identity that goes beyond the sport.  We do not just help you figure out what to do next.  We help you understand who you actually are, separate from your performance, stats, and athletic role, so that everything you build next is grounded in reality.

What You Will Explore

  • The athletic identity trap — how athletes build their entire sense of self around the sport and what that costs when it ends
  • Your values — not the ones you were coached to perform, but the ones that are genuinely yours
  • Your unconscious heritage — inherited beliefs about success and worth shaping your decisions without your awareness
  • The difference between whom you were trained to be and whom you are choosing to become
  • Your strengths inventory — transferable capacities built through athletics that most athletes never recognize as assets
  • Your personal mission statement — a grounded declaration of who you are beyond the game

The Grief of the Game: Career Transition Coaching for Former Female Athletes

What you are feeling has a name. And it is allowed.

Nobody told you that leaving the sport would feel like this. Grief. Loss. Anger. Relief. Emptiness. Sometimes all of it at the same time. The end of an athletic career is a legitimate loss — of identity, structure, community, purpose, and a daily relationship with your body. Module 2 creates the space that should have existed all along. We name the grief. We validate it. And we channel the same competitive fire that drove you as an athlete into the fuel that will drive your next evolution.

What You Will Explore

  • The specific grief of athletic retirement
  • The five emotional stages athletes move through
  • Relationship between identity loss and disorientation
  • How to grieve without getting stuck
  • Redirecting your competitive fire
  • Rebuilding a relationship with your body

Career Direction

Everything the sport taught you is more valuable than you know.

Discipline.  Mental toughness.  Performance under pressure.  Coachability.  Leadership under adversity.  Recovering from failure quickly.  Showing up consistently even when you do not feel like it.  These are career assets.  Module 3 bridges the gap between the field and the boardroom.  We take the high-performance mindset you already have and translate it into professional language and strategy.

What You Will Explore

  • Athletic skills translated into professional competencies
  • Resume and interview narratives for athletes
  • Unwritten rules of corporate environments
  • Leadership positioning for women of color
  • Building sponsors, not just mentors
  • Your first 90-day professional action plan

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to take all three modules?

+

No. Each module stands completely on its own and can be taken individually. That said, the three modules are designed to build on each other — Identity first, then Grief, then Career Direction follows the natural arc of athletic transition. Many athletes find that starting with Module 1 makes everything else land more deeply.

What is the difference between self-paced and group coaching?

+

Self-paced is entirely on your schedule. You work through the material with video lessons, workbooks, and exercises at your own pace. Group coaching is live sessions with Coach Jackson and a small cohort of other athletes.  The group format adds community, accountability, and real-time coaching conversations that self-paced cannot replicate.

Can I switch delivery formats after I start?

+

Yes. If you begin with self-paced and want to add group coaching or 1-on-1 sessions, contact Coach Jackson, and we will apply what you have already paid toward the upgrade.

Do I need to be a former athlete? What if I am still playing?

+

Both. This program is designed for athletes in transition — approaching the end of their career, currently in transition, or recently transitioned. It is also powerful for athletes who are still playing and want to prepare for the transition before it arrives. Starting early is a strategic advantage.

Is this therapy?

+

No. This is coaching — forward-focused, action-oriented, and grounded in lived experience and professional methodology. If you are experiencing clinical mental health concerns that significantly interfere with daily functioning, please seek appropriate clinical support. These programs are designed for athletes who are functioning and ready to work on their transition.

Are payment plans available?

+

Yes.  Payment plans are available on all package levels.  Contact Coach Jackson at www.coachrhondajackson.com to discuss the right plan for your situation.

Is in-person available?

+

All formats are available online nationally via Zoom or Google Meet. In-person coaching and group sessions are available in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
